Gigi's Journal Entry About Kindergarteni
Gigi began a journal at the beginning of the month. She writes in it every few days or so. We wanted to be sure to capture the excitement of her first day of Kindergarten so we asked her to write & draw a picture. She drew all of her teachers except Miss Jonita, her violin teacher who comes on Tuesday & Thursday, and her soccer coach because it rained today and there was no soccer. She said her favorite part of the day was when she learned Arabic. I labeled her teachers aa she explained who each was and what they taught her.
I was so anxious to pick her up today that I got to her school an hour early! Many children were already picked up for the day. I guess I wasn't the only anxious parent! I got to watch as Madame Pia played dominoes with the kids, in French! They had learned some numbers in French today so this was to reinforce what they had learned. I was so proud when I heard her ask Gigi, in French, how many were on her dominoes and she answered her in French! She appeared to have had a great day and I survived the anxiety of my baby starting kindergarten!!!

Three years ago today the phone rang...
...and our lives wer never the same again!!! Thank God!
It still amazes me how quickly three years can zip by now that we have Gigi in our lives because when were waiting for her time would stand still for months at a time! I think I will always be waiting for Gigi because that's what I basically do every day...wait for her to wake up, wait for the (always too quick) phone call from Nana saying that she picked her up from school, and, the longest, wait for the clock to tell me I can leave work to go home to her everyday. I suppose it will only get worse with time...I'm sure in a blink I will be waiting for her phone calls & visits from college...I better not start thinking about that!!!

So happy to get her favorite book in Spanish!
As we left for school this morning our Amazon order was arriving. We were super excited! We only gave her one of the Spanish books and chose her favorite. She thought it was funny that it was in Spanish! She did good reading the color words too! I can't wait for our bedtime reading time tonight!!!!

Our little smarty pants is on her way to get even smarter! Today is Gigi's first day at her new school. I'm sure she's going to love it & get lots of new wrinkles in her brain!!!

We brought Tinkerbell wings, tiaras, & goodies bags to share with Gigi's friends at ballet. Just another little birthday celebration for our little princess!!! She had a great time. A girl & her skeleton...nothing weird about that, right?
Gigi is fascinated by her skeleton so Nana & Papa gave her a blow up skeleton for Valentine's Day. Now she can learn more about the names of each & get to see their shape & where they are located in the body. I'm so happy for her!

What a difference a teacher makes...
Although this is not Gigi's first Spanish class there was lots of confusion as to who the teacher was supposed to be and the class didn't always start on time so they gave us a "do over" and the 8 weeks technically began tonight with the permanent teacher, Juan. He is amazing with the kids. I can't believe how well Gigi is following his instruction. He doesn't speak a word of English during the 2 hour & 15 minute class!!! I would be completely lost!!! And yes she is supposed to be on the table per his instruction! But I have no idea why! LOL!

Our sweet Valentine!
This morning was so much fun with our little valentine! We gave Gigi her Valentine gift...a princess pocket book filled with treats like a leap pad game, a night gown, a Rapunzelvook, a fluffy rose and a heart.
She gave each of us a Valentine she made for each of us which we both will proudly post on our desks at work.
I know she's going to have a very fun Valentine party at school. I wish I could stay and play with her!!!

So happy to ve spending the day at Nana & Papa's!!!
Since Nana had her surgery, almost a month ago, Gigi hasn't been spending much time at Nana's. It's been fun for me but I know Gigi has been waiting for the day when she could spend the entire day with her again while mommy goes off to work! Today is that day!!!

One month from today my little princess will turn 4!!!
I can't believe we're getting ready to celebrate Gigi's fourth birthday in just one little month!!! Wow! Her 3rd year is going by so fast! Today she weighed in at 30.4 pounds and was just over 38 inches on her growth chart.
Happy little birthday my sweet girl I can't wait to celebrate your next big milestone next month! I'm sure four is going to be amazing because three sure has been!!!

Gigi knocked my socks off tonight!
Even though I know she's brilliant she still continues to impress me! Tonight for her bed time story she chose a story book she's never read before, The Sorcerer's Apprentice. She got her broom out of her stuffed animal "ball pit" and read it to him and me cover to cover!!! There were a few words here and there that she needed my help with but for the most part she read the entire book by herself! I was so impressed hearing her read sentences like, "the water knocked Mickey off his chair." When did she learn the word knocked? She didn't even hesitate! Oh and to really knock me over every time the word water appeared she immediately replaced it with agua! LOL! She loves learning Spanish. She'll probably be reading in Spanish this time next year! I wouldn't be surprised. LOL!

A stuffed animal "ball pit"!!!
We did a little experiment tonight...we put all of Gigi's stuffed animals (well, most of them!) in her ball pit. Yes, we first removed the balls! Gigi thought it was a great idea. It looked like a lot of fun when she jumped in! It's much quieter than the balls & I suspect a whole lot softer! It will be nice to have one spot for all her friends to live. We'll see how long it lasts. The best is that she calls it her stuffed animal ball pit. She's so cute!

Hola!
Gigi is taking her first Spanish lesson tonight. She seems to be doing well, listening and repeating what the teacher is saying. One day soon my daughter will so much smarter than me and I'm so ok with that!!!! I love that I can sit and watch her. As usual, I wish I could be in there, learning with her!!!
So sweet!!!
I'm organizing a life-size game of Candyland at work where the people move around the giant game board. Gigi helped me make candy decorations. These are a few of them.

Yum!
Gigi asked for and ate (a few bites anyway) ice cream at Sweet Tomatoes! The biggest surprise was the chocolate sprinkles on top. She never chooses chocolate!!! Then again chocolate sprinkles do not taste anything like chocolate!!!
