Merry Halloween!!! LOL!

Silly Mommy!

We woke up very early this morning so we had lots of time to play with Gigi's hair!  Now she has little curls on her cheeks!  LOL!

In just two days Gigi will be 3 1/2!!!

She is so excited to turn 3 1/2 mostly because it means she gets to go to the Magic Kingdom in her Rapunzel dress and "long down hair" as Gigi calls it!!  We have a very exciting 5-day birthday celebration planned including a Disney on Ice show & a visit with Ernie & Bert! 

My favorite thing about the extra focus on her half birthday is that she talks about her "number" a lot and asks us about ours too.  It's so cute!  "My number is 3.  What's your number mommy?"  "I be 3 1/2 soon & we go to the Magic Kingdom!" 

I love her so much!!!

Thanks Writing Fairy!

The Writing Fairy came again!  He brought Gigi a book to practice writing. The "pen" is actually a light that lights up when you press down on the page. The letters,  lines, & pictures you trace are made of glow-in-the-dark material so as you trace them with the pen they glow for a momment.  It was really neat & now she'll have something else to encourage her to practice!  That Writing Fairy is tricky like that!!!

Gigi was a little reluctant to practice her handwriting tonight but after asking her if she thought the Writing Fairy might visit again she got excited & went right to work.

She did very well with drawing a straight line from each ball to their name at the top but when it came to making the rounded part of the b's, well, you can see how well that went!  She is doing better though. I do see an improvement. 

She still insists on using her left hand and I don't suggest differently now. She is left handed & that's all there is to it! I just hope I'm showing her the proper way to make her letters. I would feel awful if I was making it more difficult for her!

Gigi loves preschool!

We can't get to school quick enough in the morning!  She just loves school.  She was so worn out yesterday she was asleep by 7:30 which was perfect since we need to be up by 7:30 to get ready & be to school on time!  Hopefully we won't have any accidental naps happen!! LOL!

Typhoon Lagoon Here We Come!!!

Hopefully the weather will stay nice for a good portion of the day so we can have a fun water day!  It's been a while since we've been to a water park & we're very excited!!! 

I had two free tickets from donating to United Way & I'm free through February...being that it's a free fun day makes it even better!!!

We let Gigi pick which water park...Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon.  She said, "I don't want to go to Lizzard Beach, let's go to lagoon!"

After practicing in her dry erase writing book this morning, Gigi found another surprise from the Writing Fairy! It was magnetic sight words!  Since our fridge is stainless steel we brought them to Nana's!  She was such a good sport about having them all over her fridge!  Thanks Nana!!!

And here is the reason she needs some encouragement from the Writing Fairy!

In just a few visits from the Writing Fairy we've seen a difference in Gigi's behavior. She actually gets excited to spend a few minutes practicing to write letters.  She never had an interest before. Since she's so young we never pressed the issue but but with a little positive reinforcement (presents!) she's asking to practice now!!! 

I buy her things all the time (mostly educational toys) & I try not to give them to her for no reason. I don't want to spoil her, after all. LOL!  So having another fairy visiting her for a while is going to be great because I have a few things stacking up & there's only so many holidays in the year!!!

Gigi is going to be 3 1/2 very soon & we've decided to give her some much needed motivation to practice her handwriting!  She really doesn't write at all. She will write her name but it looks more like Chinese than English and, of course, we can't read Chinese like her!  LOL! 

We got in touch with both the Potty Fairy & the Bottle Fairy, who both did wonders with her, and they suggested that we contact the Writing Fairy.  Since they both recommended him we contacted him & this was his 2nd visit.  She's very excited to practice her handwriting now! 

Yesterday he left her a little Caillou doll, she adores Caillou, and tonight he left her a new DVD, Meet the Phonics (blends)!!!  We are all so excited about this surprise!!!

Oh, and if you are wondering, yes, the Writing Fairy is a boy!!!  Well, that's what the Bottle Fairy & the Potty Fairy told us. Gigi is not convinced that he's a boy!

Gigi loves her new classroom!

Preschool orientation was fun! Gigi is in a new classroom and she loved it. School starts next week. Now that she got to see how much fun her new room is I think she will be very excited to go!  We'll see how it goes next week!

My little book worm!

We are on our way to Gigi's preschool orientation.  This year she will be going three mornings a week but sadly without Sagan because Sagan will be with the big kids this year! 

A pretty sundress from Once Upon a Child

This is one of Gigi's new dresses from our recent trip to Once Upon a Child.  It is so adorable...she is so adorable wearing it! 

She was so happy when she looked in the mirror this morning.  "Thank you mommy for my new dress. It's so pretty!"

Gigi took some of her Hot Dots to Nana & Papa's this morning...you can see her holding the box in the picture.  While Nana was making her a scrambled egg I set her up at the table with Papa & she did a few cards before I left.  She's so smart!  She was doing number cards...count the items then find the correct number word.  For example, she counted nine bugs & then chose the number word "nine".  She did several cards before I left & didn't miss one.  She's amazing!!!

Gigi took a nap in the car today so sleep wasn't going to happen any time soon tonight so we decided to have a family movie night.  Just recently Gigi received Stitch from a co-worker when she came for a visit to my job.  It made us realize that we never watched Lilo & Stitch with her.  Tonight seemed like the perfect night.  We all snuggled up together & watched it.  When it was over we officially welcomed Stitch to our ohana. Gigi was delighted by this and have him this big hug! Dan took us out on a dinner date tonight & then a family movie night...I think we need more nights like tonight!

This morning, just for fun, I put curlers in Gigi's hair! She got very excited because Nana has curlers in her hair all the time and now she was just like Nana!  I'm not sure if they will have any affect on her hair but we'll see in an hour or so. In the meantime she thinks she's the bees knees!!

Today is going to be a fun shopping day & a quick stop at Picture People for a photo of Gigi in her little Baptism dress. I was considering also doing a summer shot of her in a bathing suit but I think we may skip that this time.

Breakfast on the go!!!

It's one of those rush, rush, rush mornings!  I made Gigi's bagel to take to Nana's.  she loves to take a picnic with her to Nana's but she must have been very hungry because as soon as I handed it to her she started eating it....what else could I do but take a picture!

It's sure to be a great day as Gigi has her latest edition of her High Five Highlights magazine & her long Rapunzel-like pink hair with her today!

Playing with Bubbles!

On several occasions this is how I find Gigi when I pick her up from Nana & Papa's at night...giving her little mermaid dolls a bubble bath in the bathroom sink!  Well, at least it's a great workout for her legs as she stands on her tippy-toes to reach!  LOL!  She loves playing with bubbles!!!

It's an Alphie kind of a morning!

Alphie is such a good friend!  He asks her fun questions like what is the first letter in the word ant & when she gets it right he gets so excited. He just said "you are so smart, are you using my memory chip?"

It is very rare that Gigi will wear pajamas over a nightgown but when she does it just tickles my heart!

Aunt Jen gave Gigi a hippo bubble machine & she took it to Nana & Papa's today. She can't wait to play with it!  She said she was going to ask John to play with her. 

She's going to be sad when Aunt Mary & John leave in a few days...we all will be!

Girls Night Out!!!

We had a great girls night out! We went to David's Bridal shop for Gigi's flower girl dress for Sara's wedding & then out to dinner at BJ's restaurant. Yum!

Gigi woke me up this morning telling me about Sara & John & ducks & mermaids and somehow they were all related. She couldn't wait to get over there to see them.

Something new today...I gave Gigi a bagel w/ cream cheese. Seeing her eat a bagel was almost as cute as hearing her say she was eating a bagel with a shmear! She loved every bite too! I only gave her 1/2 a bagel & the cream cheese was whipped w/ chives. She ate every bite & said it was so yummy!!!

Yesterday was another fun day for Gigi! She had an outing with Daddy & Max. They took him to the vet for some medicine for his cough & afterwards came to mommy's job for a quick visit! While here I took her to go potty so she got to visit with lots of people on the way. One person even gave her a present...a stuffed Stitch! She was so excited. People love to give Gigi presents! I was so happy for her, after all it was her 41 month birthday & believe it or not her mom & dad didn't get her a present. LOL! Next month she'll be 3 1/2 and that most definitely warrants presents!!! When we asked her what she wants to do for her 3 1/2 birthday (w/o any prompting from us) she said, "go see Ernie & Bert!" So of course we will be going to Busch Gardens next month!!! I can't wait!

Happy 41st Month Birthday Gigi!!!

Gigi measured in at 37 inches today!  She grew a 1/4 inch this month!!!  She weighed in at 28.4 pounds. I'm so happy that she gained back the pound she lost in Vero Beach when she gave up her bottle. She's been eating so much better since then too. 

We had a wonderful weekend. Her Christening was very special and Gigi had a great day!!!
