Gigi played with her little musical friends one last time before we started packing them up for another year. At one point she had everyone playing at the same time. It was fun but utter chaos! LOL!

Opening Stocking Stuffers!
Unfortunately Gigi took a very late nap so we decided to let her open some of her stocking stuffers before we finish packing up the Christmas decorations in the play room. She got some really neat things such as a Little Mermaid comb, brush, & crown set, a kaleidescope, silly princess bracelets, books, etc. She loved everything she opened!!! These were from her little stockings...she still has that great big one under the tree. Maybe we'll do a few every night this week. It might be more fun for us than her...maybe not. LOL!
How do we take down the tree when her stocking is still full of presents?
I really don't want to say goodbye to our tree! Maybe another week??

Well, it seems like it's time to say goodbye too our decorations. I'm sure our neighbors will be happy. Now we will have to decorate for Valentine's day. That will be fun! I wonder if there are any blow-up hearts. LOL!

These were my & Dan's lobsters! Nana & Papa out did themselves today! Today is Liz & Ron's anniversary and ours was a few weeks ago so we had a yummy fish lunch to celebrate.

The A+ Gang!
It's school time! The girls played school at Gigi's today. We set up 7 stations around the room (letter writing, letter & number recognition, Alpine, hot dots, music, color words, & sight words). After they went through each station they had a test & everyone got an A+! It's been fun. Now it's time for a break and some good old fashioned imagination play time.
Ballet Day!
If you want your kids to learn a behavior or good habit you have to visit it over & over with them even when you don't think they're paying attention they are! I'm constantly telling Gigi what I expect of her as far as her behavior is concerned. I say the same thing so many times I begin to annoy myself! For example, since Gigi began taking dance lessons last summer I would remind her before each class to listen to the teacher, do what the teacher does, leave your star on the ground, and when your tap shoes go on no running around. These were all Gigi specific needs. Her behavior in all of these areas have improved drastically over the months. So I wonder is she just getting older and able to focus more or is there a chance that's she's actually doing what I asked of her? Most likely she's just growing up but that doesn't mean she's not paying attention to my words. This morning after arriving at dance I sat her down on the bench to put her ballet shoes on & without any prompting from me she began reciting the rules, "listen to your teacher, leave your star on the ground..." Even when it doesn't seem like they're listening they are. Your words are very powerful be careful how you use them with your children...they will remember them!

Stressful Morning!
Between not getting a full night sleep & spending an hour searching for missing keys it has been a stressful morning! Hopefully Gigi & Max will have a more pleasant day at Nana & Papa's today! I'm just happy to be at work. Did I just say that?

And now she's eating it!
She got the cheese in the straw & now she's trying to get it out! LOL! It kept her occupied & quiet at dinner!!!

I guess it's good fine motor skill practice!

Daddy had to go for a blood test so Gigi went to Nana & Papa's this morning. She just loves to be dressed up like a princess & lately nothing is better than her Rapunzel nightgown.

An unexpected treat...
We got in the car this evening not knowing where we would end up & somehow we found ourselves at the Magic Kingdom! Gigi was so excited. It was a quick visit but we had fun! We need to start going to the parks more often.
I forgot one!
Oops! How can I forget the first pair of sneakers we got her just after getting her referral. We had no idea how tiny she really was. I got her pair of size 4 dress shoes & these size 5 Pooh sneakers. She was still in a 3! We were a little off! LOL! Now she's in a 6! It seems too soon for that!
Of course I won't be able to let these go! Maybe one day but not just yet.

Chilly Max
Maybe I should have waited to cut his hair but it was falling out in clumps all over the place. They put dust bunnies to shame! Well, we kept him warm all night snuggled in our bed but he needed a little coat so I sewed him a cozy coat this morning. I think he looks very cute. Gigi was super jealous that I was making Max a dress & not her!

Well, it's official, she's wearing size 6 shoes! Now what to do with the old shoes?
It is so hard to let any of them go. I'm picking my favorites to save (for what I don't know) and giving the rest away. Thankfully Gigi's preschool takes donations & has a little thrift shop that makes money for the school. I'm so happy to have such place to donate them.
From this bunch the butterfly shoes can't leave yet & we'll save the beautiful plum dress shoes Grandma Annette gave her & I hope I can let the rest go but it's going to be hard!

Fun Friday!
I knew last night when we dressed her for bed she would be wearing her nightgown to Nana's today! I try to let her pick anything she wants to wear on Friday & there was no possible way of talking her out of that dress without making her cry! She must have said."leave dress on mommy. Leave Rapunzel on?" about 50 times! I kept saying yes and you don't have to ask anymore but she would say ok and then immediately ask again! Within seconds of being at my parents she had her socks & shoes off & her slippers on. It looks like it will be a couch potato kind of day!
She's So Cute!
Every morning when Gigi gets out of bed her first task always seems to be turning on the Christmas tree lights. She does this as soon as we return home each night too. This morning after she turned on the tree lights she said, "Merry Christmas! It's present time!" It was so adorable! I wish we had a camera going on her at all times to capture all the cute things she says!

I had to see her!
I was so sad to leave her this morning so I asked to meet them on my lunch break. It was so good to hug her again!
Hard morning for mommy!
For the first time Gigi cried and cried when I brought her to preschool which made me cry & cry! I don't know how I drove away! I felt so bad leaving her when she was so upset! I'm not sure what is upsetting her so much. I guess we'll see how she is when Nana picks her up in a little while.
