One Last Picture & Post for 2009! Gigi's relaxing as we wait for the ball to drop - somehow I don't think she'll see it this year!

I can't believe we're saying goodbye to 2009! The past few years seemed to crawl by at times as we waited for our baby to arrive and now that we have her in our lives it seems like everything is going in fast forward!

Tomorrow she will be 22 months old & I will be happy & sad when I mark her new height on her growth chart tomorrow morning. She is growing & changing every day. She's so smart and seems to be able to repeat just about anything now. She also seems to understand just about everything we say or ask her which still amazes me! She's even more beautiful than they day we first met her which we didn't think could be possible.

It's safe to say that with the exception of some very sad experiences such as losing Papa Jerry earlier this year this has been the best year of our lives. I have a feeling we will be saying that at the end of every year now that Gigi is part of the equation!

Thank you to all our family & friends for all your support this past year. We wish you all a very safe, healthy, & happy new year! May 2010 be your best year yet!

Ready for the Macy's Holiday parade to begin!!!

We've had a wonderful day today! We started it by Mommy & Daddy finally exchanging their Christmas gifts to each other then we went to Islands of Adventure to see the Grinchmas show & then went over to see Barney's holiday show & now we're getting ready to see Macy's Holiday parade. What a fun-filled day we're having!!!! Such a great way to end our five day Christmas vacation!! I can't imagine a better time than this!!

Gigi is extra cute tonight!!

Gigi is about to have her second movie experience! We're seeing the Princess & the Frog tonight. We're so excited!! Gigi got all dressed up and is wearing pig tails in her hair for the very first time. I didn't think she could get any more adorable and now this! When will it stop? LOL!!

Although this promises to be a magical experience Dan and I both agree the highlight of our five day Christmas celebration was nap time today. The three of us snuggled together in our bed & watched the Disney parade together. Gigi really loved it and when Yanni & his singers played O, Holy Night and she sang along with them in her baby babble singing way Dan & I looked at each other & in practically the same words said this is my favorite Christmas moment! And we're claiming this as the highlight when the 5th day hasn't even begun yet! Well, we'll see what tomorrow brings but I'm thinking nothing can be better than that special family time we enjoyed together!!!

What a very special day we're having!

It's nap time for ALL of us & as we lay here watching Gigi pop up & down out of her playpen to make sure we're still here I am filled with such joy and peace!

Everything has been so magical from church last night to Christmas Eve at Nana & Papa's to watching her this morning play with new toys from Santa to Christmas breakfast at Aunt Liz's. The festivities will begin again at 3:00 at our house where Gigi will get to open all the gifts under our tree. Oh boy the fun seems to go on & on. Then tomorrow we get to celebrate again with all of Daddy's family. This year is just perfect & just how we imagined it would be for years!!!

We are so very blessed! I hope everyone is feeling as wonderful as we are this year!!!

Looks like Santa has been to our house! I'm so excited for Gigi!!!

Well, it only took Daddy 3 hours but he put together Gigi's little car. When we went to put it under the tree it was obvious that Santa had come because there were lots of fun toys & treats under the tree for her! AND the cookie we left him was gone. There were only some crumbs left in the plate. We left a carrot for the reindeer to share too and it was gone too!!!

It's 3:43am now and we're going to sleep!!! Gigi has slept soundly so far & we pray she makes it through the night without waking up!!!

I'm posting this picture now because I don't plan on posting any pictures until after our Christmas celebration is over. I don't plan on taking my eyes off of Gigi for several hours. It's going to be a fun morning (& day)!!!

A few rookie mistakes!

Well it's after 1:00am & Elmo is about to be freed from his box! What in the world were we thinking!!! There are several things that we wanted out and ready to be played with when Gigi wakes up and we just realized we didn't have to wait until tonight to prepare them!!! When we got home from Nana's it was after 11pm & we got started with the first toy which is my favorite, a toy baby grand piano. It's too cute! It was so simple to put together we thought this was going to be a breeze and thankfully Gigi fell asleep on the way home so we were able to get right to work. She was very very tired since the drive home is all of 30 seconds!! So anyway Daddy got staryed on the next toy which is one of those cars that she sits inside & uses her feet to pedal. We had no idea how many paerts were involved! We thought maybe a few but when Dan saw that there were 31 steps we knew we were in trouble! He started the project at 12:01am & it's 1:09am & he's outside, for the hammering parts (I'm sure the neighbors are loving us!) And he's on step 5 now! 5 steps in an hour! Oh boy! I tried desperately to talk him into giving it to her for her birthday or even Little Christmas which is very soon. He won't give up though! Well, I better get back to Elmo. Kai Lan is next!

We don't know this little girl but she asked if she could hug Gigi. This kind of thing happens all the time. I'm not kidding...this morning at Walmart I was on line to pay a bill and a random stranger came up and took her picture. She didn't even ask me. Didn't even say hello. She just had to have my baby's picture!!! Who could blame them, really!!

Gigi got a Christmas tree sticker

Every time she sees a Christmas tree she waves to it & says, "Hi tree!" After she got her sticker she waved at the her hand and said, "Hi Tree!" She was so happy to play with the jingle bells & get her sticker! It was so cute to see her run up with the other kids to get them both!

I can't wait for Christmas morning! It's going to be fun watching her open her presents but I think it might take all day because she really takes her time. As she starts to open the gift she stops to talk about it for a while. She gets very excited & it sounds like she's saying wow, what is it? Or I can't believe it! Or how pretty! You know, all the things we always say to her! She's just so adorable!
